 The advantages and disadvantages of rubber conveyor belt:
Advantages:
Rubber conveyor could transmit shock and vibration. Therefore, rubber conveyor belt has the characteristics of a lower transmission noise. And rubber conveyor belt does not require lubrication which could meet the needs of high-speed engine's transmission. Moreover, the rubber conveyor belts required little installation space, has good ability to adapt to environment.
Disadvantages:
Relative to the engine using in the chain drive and gear drive, the rubber conveyor belttransfer the torque smaller. So the rubber conveyor belt is generally used in car engines. And because the rubber conveyor belt is easy access to engine oil, coolant or brake fluid and other chemicals. For the heat, the rubber conveyor belt's material will be aging; belts will be cracking, deformation or stretching, and even the phenomenon of fracture. That would cause tooth jump phenomenon, and may even cause the valve and piston collision, leading to serious consequences.
All the advantages and disadvantages of rubber conveyor belt above are also suitable to the rubber timing belt and rubber ribbed belt.
